Sleepwear
Halo’s sleepsacks swaddles are the easiest to place the baby in, with velcro straps. And a full-length zipper for easy diaper changes in the middle of the night. Keep in mind these are very necessary because the baby can’t have any blankets or loose items that risk suffocating the baby at night.
Bassinet
The fanciest one is the Snoo, and is definitely the cheapest alternative to a night nurse if you want a good night’s sleep. Halo’s Bassinest is a much cheaper alternative, and the bassinet is removable so you can take the baby around the house while they sleep. A moses basket is a very cheap, analog alternative to all of the above, and you can take it all around the house.
Pijamas / Babywear
The easiest outfits for a newborn, which they can wear to sleep too, are footies. You want them footed so you don’t have to mess around with socks that fall off and get lost, you want a double zipper for easy diaper changes, and you want fold-over cuffs to prevent them from scratching their faces. Kyte Baby’s are soft and a great option, as are Magnetic Me’s, which just use magnets instead of zippers (so easy!). Aablexema is a great dupe if you don’t want to splurge on Kyte Baby.
Sound Machine
The Yogasleep Dohm sound machine is a great, one-button sound machine. We have one inside the baby’s room and one outside, so we can go about our business while the baby sleeps peacefully.
